Griffin Fund
Our school is funded in two ways, by the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) and by the Griffin Fund. At Glenview we ask families to provide financial support to the Griffin Fund twice a year: once in the fall as a direct ask to donate and once in the spring as part of the Read-a-Thon. That's it. We strive to make all of our school events free to the community.
Your contribution to the Griffin Fund will support key academic programs and enrichment activities: music education, the library, physical education, subsidized field trips, and more. See the Impact Report to learn more about how your student(s) will benefit from the Griffin Fund.
As we begin the 2025–26 school year, the PTA Board is excited to share that the PTA plans to spend $805 per student this academic year to support programs not provided by OUSD. To do this, we will be dipping into our reserves, but we are also asking Glenview families to contribute—if you can—to make up the difference.
To continue to support the many academic and enrichment programs that the Glenview PTA provides, this year we are asking families to contribute $525 per student to the Griffin Fund. We recognize that many in our community aren’t in a position to contribute this amount. If you are able, please consider giving $750 to $1,000 per student to help fill the gaps. No matter what you can give, donations of any amount are appreciated, and needed. We care about each and every family in our community, and the money we raise supports every Glenview student.
How much, or whether or not your family can give, Glenview is your community, and all are welcome at the PTA to stay informed, connect with other parents, teachers, staff, and administration, get involved, and have a voice in what happens at our school.
